Permission for 7no. new motor control centre (MCC) rooms and associated development to serve 6 No. existing buildings within the facility (building no’s IE1, IE6, IE7, IE8, IE11, and IE22). The proposed MCC rooms development comprises as follows: 2 No. single storey MCC room structures of approx. 57 sq.m. each adjacent to building IE1, and local diversion of existing foul sewer adjacent to building IE1; ground floor extension of approx. 12sq.m. to building IE6 and internal alterations to part (approx. 34sq.m.) of existing ground floor of building IE6 to accommodate an MCC room of approx. 46sq.m. in total; first floor/roof level extension at building IE7 for MCC room of approx. 55.50sq.m. (including removal and replacement of approx. 15sq.m. of existing access area) to be accessed by existing external stairs; first floor / roof level extension to existing single storey gas shed adjacent to building IE8 to accommodate an MCC room of approx. 42.16sq.m., and provision of new external access stairs; first floor / roof level extension at building IE11 to accommodate an MCC room of approx. 49.50sq.m., and provision of new external access stairs; and first floor / roof level extension at building IE22 for MCC room of approx. 58.50sq.m., and provision of new external access stairs; and all ancillary access and associated site development works.
The development will be located on a site that currently operates under an Industrial Emissions (IE) Licence (P0009-04) under Part IV of the Environmental Protection Agency Act 1992 (as amended). The site comprises of an establishment to which the Chemicals Act (Control of Major Accident Hazard Involving Dangerous Substances) Regulations 2015 (S.I. 209 of 2015) applies.
